Thursday, July 24, 2025

The Jordan Restaurant Association (JRA) successfully concluded an intensive training workshop titled "Mobile Photography for Professional Visual Content Production." Held on July 15th and 16th at Mejana Restaurant, the workshop aimed to equip participants with practical skills to create high-quality visual content that enhances the presence of the tourism restaurant sector, leveraging their smartphones.

The first day of the workshop featured introductory sessions that outlined the training objectives and highlighted the increasing importance of professional photography in restaurants, supported by practical examples. Sessions focused specifically on mobile photography fundamentals, such as understanding proper lighting, selecting appealing angles, artistic composition, and precise focus, with a special emphasis on food photography to showcase the beauty of dishes. The first day also included a practical exercise where participants captured photos, followed by a group review and analysis of the images. The day concluded with a session on producing Reel videos, presenting types useful for restaurants and ideas for applicable scenarios.

Building on the workshop's objectives, the second day shifted focus to storytelling through Reel videos and detailed planning for their production, including preparing shot lists and identifying all necessary requirements. Following this, video editing applications available for smartphones were demonstrated and explained. The day included a practical exercise where participants produced short Reel videos in work groups, with these creations being presented and discussed collectively for knowledge exchange.

This course is part of a series of training activities implemented by the Jordan Restaurant Association. Through these courses, the JRA aims to develop the capabilities of staff in member restaurants and keep them abreast of the latest developments in the hospitality world. This initiative aligns with the association's overall goals of identifying training and employment needs within the sector and designing appropriate programs to address them.
