Beit Shocair means the house of Shocair, and Shocair is the family that lived in this house since the begining of the 1900's. It was the first government all girls school in Jordan "Arwa Bint al Hareth". After the passing away of Mr. Amin Shocair it was agreed to transform this house into a cultural house that translates Jordan's culture and way of life in many ways. Beit Shocair consists of crafts and a old style arabic restaurant, it has one of the most beautiful views in Jordan that shows all of downtown Amman and the old city. The menu is very unique, we created an arabic fusion menu where we add exotic spices to our BBQ and oven hot meat tray (sawani)s. A bake oven has been built that fresh bread and assorted savories are baked in front of our customers. It is basically a whole day event in which you come and view our gallery of original authentic antiques and craftsmen and women working on what they do best.
