Monday, February 17, 2025

In a move reflecting its commitment to supporting education and vocational training, the Jordan Restaurants Association (JRA), represented by its Chairman of the Board, Issam Fakhreddin, has signed three Memoranda of Understanding with a number of strategic partners. The agreements aim to provide diploma scholarships for the children of workers in the tourism and hospitality sector, in order to enhance their educational and professional opportunities and prepare them for the growing tourism labor market.

This initiative, approved by the JRA Board of Directors, includes providing scholarships through the Jordan Company for Hotel and Tourism Education, which will offer three diploma scholarships in hospitality and hotel specialties, enabling students to acquire the skills necessary to work in the sector. In addition, two scholarships will be offered with the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts for a diploma in culinary arts, preparing qualified personnel with international standards. Cooperation with the Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans will also provide financial support to complete a diploma or bachelor's degree for orphans wishing to work in the tourism and hospitality sector, contributing to their economic empowerment.

Fakhreddin stressed that this initiative comes within the framework of the association's commitment to its social responsibility and its continuous pursuit to develop qualified human resources, given the importance of the tourism sector as one of the vital economic pillars that require trained competencies capable of providing distinguished services that are in line with global standards and developments in the field of hospitality.

The Director General of the Association, Eliana Ja'neini, explained that these scholarships represent an important start to enhancing education and training opportunities for the children of workers in the sector, with the association looking forward to expanding the scope of the initiative in the future by establishing more partnerships with leading academic and training institutions.

In this context, the association called on all actors in the sector to support these efforts, stressing that empowering Jordanian youth with the required professional skills contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of the tourism sector and supports the national economy by providing sustainable and high-quality job opportunities. The association expressed its pride in these fruitful partnerships, stressing that investing in education and training constitutes one of its strategic priorities, given its vital role in achieving sustainable development and enhancing the efficiency of the workforce in the tourism and hospitality sector.
